Awakening Poppies ...

19.5inx5.5in, pastels on tinted paper

Simple landscape with an unusual cropping. Rotating it vertically from what should have been a typical horizontal application kept me from getting bored. Not that it took long ... maybe two hours, but there was a lot of repetition. I've also noticed that my Sennelier reds photograph with a very luminous quality, far brighter than on the actual piece.

Now I just have to figure out how to frame these odd sizes I've been working on lately. Yikes.
