Last week, I stretched a couple of small canvasses and got out my old acrylics. The brushes were in worse shape than the paints themselves. I thought the paint would have dried out after 10 years. I guess not.
One of the canvasses has been on my easel for nearly a week. I'm relearning the process, while working on a still life of sunflowers. I still prefer the visceral feel of pastels, but this is a nice change of pace. Perhaps someday I'll start working on a couple of huge canvasses, like I used to. Whipping the big ol' housebrushes around was fun. And who wouldn't want to see my 4'x6' self-portrait?
