Switching to a mini canvas for an upcoming show. Still nothing.
Funny how inspiration hits me best when under stress and deadlines. I've had plenty of free time this weekend, but just couldn't get any painting or sketching done. I did get 3 pieces into a gallery, a little bit of writing, and a lot of grumbling ... but that's it. The next solid date for a big art show is in 6 weeks. No upcoming competitions interesting me. And for me ... painting has an awful result when forced. Perhaps waiting isn't so bad?

I think it's part of the creative process - I know I do a lot better when I have just a small amount of time to get something done. When I was a stay at home mom, I didn't get much accomplished. I've been much more productive since I've been working full-time (even though I'd still like to be home at least part of the time).
