First two ...

The following images were found in an old portfolio and date back at least 20 years. I can't recall the inspiration of the first image. It's fairly small 10"x8" or so. Combination of gouache and pastels. Looks as if it was a quick study for a future painting that never was.

This second image I remember sketching at the Museum of Natural History in New York. There was a small display of reliefs from Sumer, Babylon, etc. This was merely a simple conte study of one of those images.

I really don't care for either, but there must have been some reasoning behind my saving them. The first had potential for a large oil, but too far from my memory to retrieve.
