Lazy lazy lazy ...

Just 2 days left to the entry deadline for the autumn exhibit here. I had known it was coming up, but kept putting off framing some pieces and filling out the application form. I'm telling myself it was due to my busy schedule and certain life complications, but who am I kidding?  My lack of confidence in my work is entirely to blame. I'm just not ready to show again. But neither is my work. I've spent the past few months just toying with methods and trying out new media, etc. There is no underlying theme in my paintings, as they used to have. As my focus and style starts to narrow a bit, I will get off my butt and actually take that plunge into the icy waters of exhibitions again.

Meanwhile I've been scrambling to figure out an online portfolio with accompanying artist statement. Being a bit frugal and still unused to the online presentations of modern art society, I needed to do a bit of research. Makes one almost yearn for those bygone days of hardcover portfolio cases with color prints, calling cards, and practically living at a studio/museum. Technology has integrated so much in my time away from painting. So I spent much of the past week working on digital portfolio prep. Although I'm still not happy with the bio/statement, but will be tinkering with it here and there. You can see what I've done so far here:
