Gallery Day Again ...

Here it is gallery day. The first show I've entered in more than a decade is coming to an end today. My paintings have been getting a lot of surprisingly wonderful praise. But now its time to bring them home (and store them where?!?).  As those three are removed, I am entering another two for this next show.  Funny thing is ... I'm just as nervous and apprehensive as I was with the first show ... in fact, I'm feeling no better than my very first show in 1989.  I'm 42 years old and still not over this.  I really shouldn't be nervous at all.  I've gotten to know some of these people, I volunteer at the gallery, its an unjuried show, etc.

Deep breaths, Rick.  Deep breaths.

  1. I don't think nerves go away, no matter how old we get or how many times we put our work out there. The fact is, you ARE putting it out there and that takes guts.
