The first of two important juried shows is today. Okay ... "important" is a matter of perspective, I suppose. But consider that this is the biggest show to date, since I started painting again. I'm not sure my art is up to par with some of the others, or even if its worthy of being judged again. I'm a nervous wreck, but have three pieces framed and ready to go.
One thing I'm having a major problem with and it's frustrating as anything ... framing these pastels pieces and getting at least one little bit of debris between the mat and the glass. It seems that no matter how careful I am, there's always that one speck that draws my eye off to the side at the finish line. Never fails. I took several precautions with this last one, and still there's a mocking mote staring straight at me. It may be time to figure out this whole "matless framing" technique that pastellists are using more now.
Anyway, two hours until the deadline. Wish me luck. I'll be happy to get out of there with very little ridicule.
