... I hate 'em, I hate 'em, I hate 'em!!!
Its analogous to the chicken & egg theorem. Do I hate landscapes, because I am seriously terrible at producing one? Or am I terrible at producing landscapes, because I hate them? In studying the masters, landscapes are central to their work, even if its not the focus of the painting itself. I just can't do that. I attempt at least one landscape a week and am disgusted by the output. In fact, the majority of art that I toss into the dumpster was supposed to have been landscapes ... you couldn't tell by looking at them.
I've had a bad bad week painting. So disappointing that I've seriously reconsidered this whole "let's return to my painting roots and all will be sunshine and flowers from now on!" thing. Ready to quit and take up knitting.
